cannot see network when mac os x connected

I have 3 computers set up on my home network. There' a Win XP box, a Suse Linux box, and a Mac os X box. In suse, from Konquerer, I can type smb:/ and it will show me domain that all the computers are on. I can open the domain folders and linux will show me all the computers in that domain. However, as soon as I connect the mac os x box, then linux cannot see the domain. I can however type smb://<mac computer name> and linux will "go" to that computer, but not show any of the shares on the MAC. If i try to access a share directly (smb://<mac computer name>/<share name> then linux prompts me for a login and password. The it will list all files and directories under that share. But, linux will continually prompt me for a username and password. I have the MAC os X running a samba server. The win xp box has no problems connecting the mac os x and it can always see the network. I tried doing a google search, but I can't really come up with a good set of keywords to search on.

has anyone else seen this?

any suggestions?

thanks.

Try posting your smb.conf (at least the global section and one or two shares).

Isn't there any domain browsing conflict? try forcing the Mac not be eligible for an election of the domain master browser (check option "domain master = no", "local master = no").
