Cannot mount an NT network share

I am running Mandrake 8.2 and I'm trying to mount a Windows NT network share. I am using this following command:

mount -t smbfs -o username=xxx,password=xxx //bart/bartg /mnt/nt_machine

I also tried:

mount -t smbfs //bart/bartg /mnt/nt_machine

I get the following error message:

wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on //bart/bartg or too many mounted file systems

I have created the /mnt/nt_machine mount point already. I have Samba installed and running on this machine and can access my Samba shares from the NT computer. I also have a redhat box which will mount the NT share with no problem. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Do you have sbmfs support compiled in to the kernel?

I'm using the standard Mandrake 8.2 kernel. I thought it had smbfs support already.

Since there doesn't seem to be anymore suggestions I guess I'll just wipe out this install and put on Redhat 7.2. I don't seem to be having any problems with that on my other server.
