cannot connect to my wifi network
 
hi .. am using rhel5 and my wireless network card is intel PRO/wireless 2200BG
i have installed its driver and firmware and my device is working properly
on using command
#iwconfig eth1 scanning
it shows all the available wifi connection including mine but when i try to connect it doesnt work
on command

#iwconfig
it shows as
lo no wireless extensions.

Do you have the latest drivers for that? If not http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/#downloads

Do you have the latest Wireless Tools? If not http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_...ools.29.tar.gz

i have upgraded my driver .. the error as shown previously "ringing up interface eth1: Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device eth1 ; Invalid argument." is solved but still it doesnot acquire ip address from the wireless

whenever i try to connect to my wifi from the lists of wireless networks, my computer gets hang... nothing works
What should i do?

In topic you ask: cannot connect to my wifi network.

But in configuration file to wireless interface eth1 is stated: MODE=Master. This means that you are about to make AP.

So, do you want to use your wireless card like AP or receiver?

Ye try MODE=MANAGED

I tried mode=managed but even when i try to connect to my wifi network, computer gets hang nothing works
i ont know wts happening, please helpme out
