Cannot connect to a specific website

This appears to me to be a very peculiar problem. I can not connect to http://linux-wless.passys.nl

Until a couple weeks ago, it worked fine. I know the site is valid and active. I don't know of any other site that I have such a problem with. The browser just says "Connecting to linux-wless.passys.nl", and waits until it times out. Nor can I connect using 80.126.219.73 which seems to be the IP address.

I have checked firewall logs; cleared all my cache, cookies, etc.; tried disabling all firewalls; bypassed my router (hooked cablemodem directly to PC); ... nothing seems to work. Same symptom whether I use 64-bit, 32-bit, or my laptop.

I can't ping either the IP or the URL, but that may be something their firewall is blocking.

Any troubleshooting suggestions?

My (relatively uneducated) guess is that that blackbox.passys.nl cannot find linux-wless.passys.nl. My traceroutes also hang there. I also notice from doing my own traceroutes and pings here that the two sites, blackbox and linux-wless, share the same IP address, as does passys.nl. The IP address is one of a block that is registered to XS4ALL, which is a major ISP in the Netherlands. You might want to contact them.

It could very well be that the site is not configured properly. Trying to connect to blackbox.passys.nl and passys.nl using http just results in the Apache install screen (the screen Apache shows when it is installed correctly but no content has been added).

I am able to get to the site, and it resolves to the same IP that you have posted. So its not DNS.

Even though I can surf to the page, I can't ping, or traceroute. Thats most likely filtered, so it can't really be used to troubleshoot.

My guess is its either a firewall/ACL, or routing problem on their side.

Their server has TCP port 22 open, can you hit that?
