New in LINUX, but thanks for allowing me to use Linux with the support team like you great people with wonderful settings available in the Internet to rescue immediately!

I have installed a Debian Server in which i have run a Webmin in Web interface.
This look pretty good because I have Internet connection through this server.

I have a series of Ubuntu client PC which I wish to connect them into that Debian Server.
Can you help me in connecting these Ubuntu PC into the Debian Server?
I would appreciate you to help me in an example as follows:
First PC name : groupe9
And Debian Server: debian-server

First you have to decide what services your debian server have to provide to your ubuntu clients. eg web- mail- file- etc. services

The main service needed now is File services.

First I would like to add Ubuntu Client to a server.

Doing that in Windows I am used to it.
1rst. Login as local admin on Window Client PC>change the Window Client PC name>restart
2nd. With Network Administrator details follow the step when click right on the System properties>Network ID>....>restart and that PC is recognized by Server with the Domain Name uploaded in the Wizard.

How can this be done with Linux Operating System?

Is it a plug and play?
I realize that it is not only that or might I missed some setting up...............
I have a webmin installed in the Debian Server and I have already create user accounts. Unfortunately using one of the account from the Ubuntu client : Error appear: Authentication Failed....
Though this happen I can still browse the Internet as a local administrator and as a network administrator in the Ubuntu Client PC.
Could you come to a rescue??????

Webbing is a web interface so you don't need to be a particular user on Windows or Ubuntu. You need to authenticate as the a user with admin rights on the deviant server.

It sounds like you are using the debian host as a Samba server. You need to provide more details, such as if it is a domain controller. If so you need the pro-versions of Windows to join a domain. You should also post your smb.conf file.

Your inability to log in sounds like a webmin issue and not Samba.

Samba docs include Using Samba. It describes using an AD type system. Samba 3 works better as an ST styled domain controller. Without your sub.conf, we can't tell which you are doing.
