Cannot activate network device eth0...

Hello,

I installed two system on my compute, Windows xp and Fedora core 2. The network device works fine in Windows, but can not work fine in FC2 sometimes. The IP address assigned by DHCP server.

Every day when I first start FC2 system, the network works fine in FC2, but if I first start Windows then restart computer to enter FC2, the network can not work.

The follow error is displayed when I try to activate the network device:
Cannot activate network device eth0
Determining IP information for eth0...PING 192.168.90.1 by tes of data. [FAILED]

It's rather confusing..

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

Are you using a Local DHCP server or one in the internet ?

yeah, a Local DHCP server in company.
The DHCP server's IP address:192.168.60.3
My computer's IP address:192.168.90.90 (If the network works fine...).

I tried to use the static IP address, but get the same result: the network can not work.

Oh you have tried static IP also...
How you tried it
using ifconfig or netconfig ?
Which distro you are using ?

Can you check the lease time parameter in your DHCP's dhcpd.conf

I tried static IP by GUI(system settings -> Network -> Devices property -> Statically set IP address):
Address:192.168.90.90
Subnet mask:255.255.255.0
Default gateway address:192.168.90.1

The content of /etc/log.d/conf/services/dhcpd.conf is:

Title = "dhcpd"
#which logfile group...
LogFile = messages
#Only give lines pertaining to the dhcpd service...
*OnlyService = dhcpd
*RemoveHeaders
