jmarsh, and network dongle

Jmarsh, I emailed you. Check your mail.

I am STILL having trouble with either LAN or internet. I cannot have both at the same time. To switch to internet I have to run DHCP and go with the 208.152.6.101 IP. For the LAN I have to force a 208.152.2.111 IP. Note that I DID try filling in the values for DNS and Gateway and that did NOT help.

Also, Adding another network card is NOT an option. For one thing this is a laptop, for another, I am only allowed 2 IPs by my ISP, one for this laptop, and the other for my brother's machine.

Can someone offer any insight as to how I can get BOTh LAn and internet to work on the same ip?

Thanx

I would say the hell w it and run NAT. It seems that everybody else here on this forum runs NAT and knows how to troubleshoot it.

NAT? Network Address Translation??? I have no idea how to run that.

On 2000 set your guest account to no password. On linux you should now be able to do -

smbclient -L \\<win_name> -U guest

at password prompt, just hit return, you should get a share listing from your windoze box.

I'm getting "NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED", from Slackware 9 when I'm running that command on my win2k box. Any idea why?
