Can ping web page from telnet, but can't open it in web browser

I have to PCs. One of them use Win XP (home), and the second one RedHat Linux 8.0. LAN is configured: file sharing (in both directions), printer sharing.

On Win XP I have shared internet connection, and when I'm connected to the internet, I can from terminal in RH ping any web address. But when I try to open any of those addresses in web browser (Opera), it won't open.

I tried deactivating iptables service, such as deactivating firewall, but nothing helps.

Any ideas?

Definitely try to open ISP home page. I accidentally try this and the page opened in browser!

A lot of wasted hours to realize that problem is at my ISP...
