Can not see other computers, network storage drive & printer on the network

I am new to Linux/CentOS. Recently, I installed CentOS 6.4 on my PC. I am able to access internet with wired and wirless. However, the machine can not see network drive or other computers on the network. When I bring up "File Browser" and click on "Network" on the left menu, I could see "Windows Network" on the right. when I click on "Windows Network" icon on the "File Browser", it displays a message with the heading "Unable to mount location" followed by "Failed to retrieve share list from server".

You need to open the necessary ports in your firewall. You mentioned you are trying to browse window shares; Need to install and configure samba, look here for CentOS - http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/SetUpSamba

What other services are you trying to access?

I was resolved the issue by configuring the firewall. Firstly, I run "system-config-firewall" and then selected "samba" and "samba-client".
