Can normal users connect to internet?

ok here is the thing

I;m very new to linux, and im just beggining to understand how things work.
I would like to know if it is possible to connect to the internet logged in as a normal user too, or do i have to "su" and type in my root password and than write adsl-start in terminal.

I have been googling for a day or two but found only how to share files or folders and how to give permissions for them.

I tried creating a launcher and placing it in /usr/local, than i gave normal users persmission to read and execute it, but that didnt work cause when in normal user adsl-start cmd is not found.

I know this is probably a very simple solution, and that networking is probably not the right category for this question, but i actually dont know where to put it.

You can use 'sudo' to let regular users run root stuff (see 'man sudo'). Or you can find what files 'adsl-start' needs and set permissions that let regular users use them. Note that if the regular users can't find 'adsl-start', it is probably is in /usr/sbin or /usr/local/sbin . Copying it to /usr/bin will let regular users access it. Remember that it may need other root-only files, too.

See:
man sudo
man sudoers
