can i use 6lowpan as a protocol for communication between two virtual machines?

Hello,
is there a way to choose the protocol of communication between two virtual machines running linux ? like using 6lowpan or bluetooth ?

I'm trying to simulate two IOT devices talking to each other .

thank you,

It can be, dependant on virtual machine's implementation, like communication through Ethernet interface.

Hello and welcome to LQ.

A bit hard to decide on this.

Most VM's allow a few ways to interact between the two. They generally use some virtual hardware network interface card. If your protocol works on that virtual hardware then we'd assume it should work like two real computers.

Also I don't know how advanced virtual machines are for using bluetooth on host. Some servers may allow pci boards to be passed. A usb bluetooth might be passed.

It might be some implementation for using serial in this project.
