Can HUAWEI ETS2058 be configured under Fedora for Internet?
Hello friends,
I had been using HUAWEI ETS2005 device (please see picture attached) for Wireless Dial-up Internet under WIndowsXp and WindowVista. Please tell me if this device can be configured under Fedora? Someone said to me that it is impossible, but I don't believe so. Please help me.
Regards
it might help if you supply some hardware specs...in particular how does ms see the device? does it connect via usb connector...serial connector...or what?
Being wireless does that mean wireless within home only or wireless to a wireless phone company...so you have a sim card?...your isp should then be able to tell you some connect specifications such as what number to dial...and the apn.
when you plug in...what do you see in your /var/log/messages.
if its usb post and search for the ids from running command ....lsusb
Thanks aus9
I don't understand when you say "how does ms see the device", however the device has a cable with usb at its one end for the system unit and at the other end, there is serial port I guess. So this is a wireless to a wireless phone company with a SIM card. When I called at helpline of the phone company, I was told that this device has a driver for Windows systems only and for Linux I have to search the Internet.
Being a newbie I don't know much how to view /var/log/messages, however this is what you want perhaps:
or you please tell me how to view the messages. Now the result of the lsusb is:
Quote:
bash-3.2# lsusb
