Angry can't make SUSE remember IP settings after reboot...#$%

Hi, I have a linux box, I'm learning to play with it, it's connected in a lan network, to a NT server.
I'm using SUSE linux 7.3. Can anybody help me, cause:

1. I can't make linux remember my IP settings after reboot. I made a script where I call ifconfig and route to make the network work every time I restart the system. I don't know where to call the ifconfig line , in witch .conf file to make it start up when I boot lin. I get an error when I'm booting that "could not add route .....", this I think means that somewhere before, ifconfig shold be called and it's not.. Yast doesn't do nothing, even if it says it does....#$%#$

2. I have nearby a Macintosh G4 unsing OS 9.1. The partitions are made with HFS+ . I want to get some stuff from mac to the linux box, I tried moving the hdd from mac to PC, but I can't acces the HFS+ partitions, I couldn't find any software to work with that, only with the simple HFS, nothing I can do with that. So I tried starting the appletalk on linux box. ???? I don't understand how to make this work, I read the manual, can't do nothing.... can somebody help me with a solution for that ??? I just can't see my linux box with my MAC with appletalk. is there a posibitily to make it work over tcp IP? The MAC is connected to the same NT server, and can't see nothing shared over TCP IP.
wainting for some help.......................
