exactly, your right sir, i have the doubt i can use for ns2.33, they mentioned 2.2x, but i have problem in installing ns2.2x.
so i wanted to do it in ns2.33

An unpatched ns-2.26 requires gcc / g++ version 3.3.3.
( Versions 3.4.6 and 4.1.x works with the ns-2.26-gcc410.patch ).
And: Ubuntu 11.10 would create a doubtful result, if you had the right compiler.
