Question Can't Start Samba

For some reason my samba service does not want to start, I have entered the command service smb start, and it replied "unrecognized service".
I then created a samba account but it still does not want to activate.
Can someone help me?

probably called smbd, not smb. do it the direct way though, and use "/etc/init.d/smbd start" much quicker.

depends how it's set up... you'll be using user acounts to conect to it, not actaully run it. if you installed via an rpm or something then if there is a service user, it would have been created for you. normally it will run as root though.
