can't ssh using hostname
I tried pinging and using “ssh” with hostname as configured in “/etc/sysconfig/network” and “/etc/hosts”, however, I was unable to do a ping using the hostname of another test machine for e.g.
[root@testserver1 ~]# ping testserver2
PING testserver2 (192.18.100.11) 56(84) bytes of data
From 192.168.100.10 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable
From 192.168.100.10 icmp_seq=2 Destination Host Unreachable
OR
[root@testserver1 ~]# ping 192.168.100.11
PING 192.168.100.11 (192.168.100.11) 56(84) bytes of data
64 bytes from 192.168.100.11: icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=1.22 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.100.11: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.268 ms
i can ssh using IP address but i cant ssh using the hostname.
I hope one of our enthusiastic members would help me tackle this concern.
