Can't send or Receive Emails

Hi,

I can't send or receive emails when I changed my Linux server 's IP address to another. However, I can receive emails if they were sent from my domain.

Anybody has any idea whether I need to reconfigure my Linux server? It was originally working fine until I move the server into my firewall with a new IP.

Need help on what I can do, check and reconfigure. I'm new to Linux, so I need quite detailed help. Thanks! I'm using Redhat 8.0 Pro for this server.

Hie,

Usually there is mapping or NAT of IP addresses on the firewall. You do not mention whether you redefined your mapping or NAT on the firewall. You may want to have a look at your map table. You also did not mention what firewall you use. Otherwise if its receiving from within then surely its has to be a firewall problem.

Good Luck.!!!

I'm using a Sun Ultra 10 firewall. I do not administer the firewall, so I can't really say what is wrong.

One question, do I really need to reconfigure the Linux machine since it was working previously? The only difference is that it is only moved into the DMZ with a new IP address. The hosts file is also updated. Sendmail is running fine as I can telnet to port 25.

I suggest you get the Firewall administrator to confirm that no changes are required on his firewall before you make further changes to your configuration.

I'm now able to receive all emails, but not send. Yes, I think it has got to do with the firewall. I will ask them to check. Thanks.
