check the file permissions and owner / group

if you created it with another user and you don't have write access...

Samba trys to interpret windows file attributes and decide what the unix setting should be.

in unix we have read, write, and execute.

also we have owner, group, and other

Normally if you create a folder on the share from a client then you will own the folder. If the share is then accessed by another user they will have read access if it is set as default public. They will not have access to write to your new folder, so they cannot create or rename / move files in someone elses folder.

You have 777 set so anyone should be able to write to everything

unless you put the files there locally, which means they are maybe owned by another user, or have other permissions.

Explorer locking up is a windows problem that should not be related to samba.

if you logon to linux with that user locally you should be able to do the same as if you were using samba. Like rename / move, copy, create, delete
