can't login to my router

hi there,
I'm running a kubuntu box with apache 2, and am sat behid a netgear DG834 v2 router.
My problem is that I need to enable prt forwarding, but I can't login to the router at all.
I try: 192.168.0.1. and get the login dialogue, and I enter the defaults, but it just hangs, and blanks the password in the form.
I've tried the alternate password, and the ip: 192.168.1.1. to no avail.
I've tried clicking the reset button on the rear of the housing - no joy either

Is there something i need to change in guarddog?

Any replies appreciated,
howard

ps it surfs the web alright, I'm sending this through it

What is the Model of the Router

What make/model is the router?

If you are getting to the authentication dialog box then it would seem that there are no issues with being able to access the router. Maybe try a Harware Reset on this again, making sure to follow the manufacturer's guidlines for this, to reset to the default password/uname. If A Firewall was blocking you from getting to this You would not be presented with the authentication request.
