You might want to try to disable apic
But first of all, you shuld be using the 8139too module, right??
Diable APIC:
Since you are using MDK 9.1, do this to disable APIC. Using KDE, go into the panel, and hit run command. Type in the combo box:
Then, hit the details button and check the run as different user box. Then go down and enter your root password and click run
Then open:
First back it up, then...
Edit your linux entry that has label = "linux" (it should be the first entry) to include noapic in the append line. There should be some other stuff too, just add noapic before quiet
here's an example:

Be sure to type lilo at the console to activate your changes and reboot
I've read, however not experienced that the realtek cards are somewhat buggy with apic support
