ok, fc5 is really starting to get on my nerves, first my display is whacked and now it won't let me connect to the internet. somebody please, for the love of god, help. ok i have my display working correctly now and now i can't connect to the internet, i have it set up the exact same way as i did in fc4. i have cable internet and it is automatically configured using dhcp, it says that eth0 is activated but nothing works, web browser, im, yum, limewire. whats going on? did i miss something? i tried changing it from direct connection to that the proxy settings are automatically discovered but that didn't work either. i gave it a static ip address, nothing. i just want to use fc5.

I had the same problem-eth0 showed active but I couldn't ping or access internet with a browser. Have you tried to unplug your cable modem, wait about 10 seconds then plug it back in. Wait until you have a ready light on your modem then boot computer. That did the trick for me, hope it works for you.
Regards
