Can't access autopackage.org website

Hi all -

I have a very odd problem here - I am unable to access the autopackage.org website. ( I'm using Fedora Core 5).

When I try accessing the site using Firefox, there is no response.

Other sites are fine (I always see the rd ("received)" modem light flashing away), but with this site - nothing.

So, I tried a nifty thing - I downloaded a package called "packer" (helps to automate package creation). It is available as an autopackage (which means that it tries to access the autopackage website). From that, when it tried to access the site, I got the autopackage IP address (130.225.247.90).

I pinged that address, and got the following - (the "from" IP address is different - not sure why that is, but anyway ... )

From 130.225.242.102 - icmp_seq = 1 packet filtered

From 130.225.242.102 - icmp_seq = 3 packet filtered

From 130.225.242.102 - icmp_seq = 4 packet filtered

.... and so on.

So - anyone know what may be happening here? The "filtered" looks as if this site is deliberately blocking me, but I'm not spamming them, sending malware or anything - I just want to download their software. I may have to download it in an internet-cafe ....

Very many thanks in advance - bye for now.

Not a problem. Site admin has chosen not to respond to ping. Site itself is still accessible with a browser. Just tried, works with FF.

Re: can't access autopackage.org site

Hi - thanks for your reply!

Hmm ... it's a puzzle, that's for sure.

What is interesting is that I can access the site from work with no problems. But from home - nope .... :-)

Anyway - I think I'll try the ol' "go to internet cafe and download" workaround ... :-))

Thanks again - bye for now -
