Exclamation Can't able to ping the server

Hi Friends,
I m not able to ping the server.I deployed one patch and then reboot the system two times but after that i m not able to ping the server. Before reboot i was able to ping the server.
I execute the iptabl commands which are as follows but still not resolved the problem -

iptables -A INPUT -p icmp --icmp-type echo-request -j ACCEPT

/etc/init.d/iptables save

service iptables restart

Please help me regarding this.

Thanks

Show us the output of iptables -L and have you verified you have network connectivity from that machine?

what error do you get when u ping? Are you sure that icmp req packets are not being dropped in the n/w? This happens because of the n/w policies and to safeguard against the icmp echo req attacks.

Is it behind a firewall or nat'd with a port redirected so you can connect?

Question

There is no natting involve and this is not behind the firewall either.
We started facing this issue after we uploaded a patch on it.

Output of the ping is : -

===================================================================
ping x.x.x.x
PING x.x.x.x(x.x.x.x) 56(84) bytes of data.

===================================================================

Question

That patch is nothing but to upgrade the version of F5(load balancer).
