Hi Friends,
I m not able to ping the server.I deployed one patch and then reboot the system two times but after that i m not able to ping the server. Before reboot i was able to ping the server.
I execute the iptabl commands which are as follows but still not resolved the problem -
iptables -A INPUT -p icmp --icmp-type echo-request -j ACCEPT

service iptables restart

Show us the output of iptables -L and have you verified you have network connectivity from that machine?
what error do you get when u ping? Are you sure that icmp req packets are not being dropped in the n/w? This happens because of the n/w policies and to safeguard against the icmp echo req attacks.
