Cable connection Problem
 

I use a cable connection for using Internet. For windows , the ISP has given a software where i have to enter username & password to start . But there is no such software for linux. Linux detects my network interface card and I have entered my static ip address and address of the server. But I don't how to enter my username and password if no software is provided. Can I still connect to the Internet ?? Plz Help.........
