Cable AND Dsl through router
 

I thought I had already posted this question before, but I couldn't find it, so I guess I didn't.

Ok, here's the situation. In my city, cable is fast, but has a monthly download limit. DSL is slower, has a terrible ping, but lets you download as much as you want...so here's what I want to do:

All web and game traffic (port 80 and some others) gets routed through the cable modem.

All p2p file sharing (kazaa, edonkey, bittorrent) gets routed through the DSL modem.

I currently have a Linux box setup as a router using shorewall firewall. Can I do what I want to do using just shorewall, or will I need other software? I haven't figured out how to do it with just shorewall yet.

You need to use iproute to define what goes where..

WTH? A monthly download limit... that's crap. I would just use the DSL.

Yes, yes it is crap. 12 GB per month, then $10 per 10 Gigs after that. Even more unfortunately, though, the DSL seems to be a pretty crappy service. We're guaranteed 1.5 to 3.0 mbps, but we get just under 1.5. Also, if anyone uploads, it completely kills the download speed and the ping (so goodbye day of defeat, heh). Anyway, the cable is 6 mbps with very low ping, which is terrific. It's cheaper too (not counting the $10 per 10 gigs, heh).

There are four of us sharing the connection, so it is pretty financially feasible to have both services.
