Building a wireless ap that uses WPA
Can someone please point me to some good sources that include both the building of one, and compatible cards?
edit: I'm also thinking of using and box as a firewall and forward it's packets to a wrt54gl router. The wrt54gl would then become an access point. Any advice on how to do that would be greatly appreciated. |
Have you looked at any of the Linux firmware for the WRT-54GL ? OpenWRT DD-WRT, etc... ?
Source should all be available, that would be a good place to start. that firmware also has firewall capabilities in it.. I don't think I would bother trying to turn a PC into a WAP if you already have a WRT-54GL |

I was looking into turning the box into a WAP, but it was hell trying to find information on how to setup one with WPA. That's why I posted here. Now I'll just let the wrt54gl handle the WAP WPA function. unless... someone can point to a specific resource on how to setup a WPA WAP. |
found one

Have a look at http://locustworld.com/ may be a little overkill but they have a live cd if you want to give it ago.
