Bringing up interface eth0: determining ip information for eth0... failed

I am trying to add a Linux box to my networked Windows systems. Currently I have one machine running Win 2K, and one machine running Win XP Pro. Both of these machines connect to a Zonet ZFS3008 8port 10/100 switch and work just fine. I have a Linksys BEFSR41 cable/dsl router (with dhcp enabled and a default config address of 192.168.1.1). My dsl modem (Speedstream 5360) connects to the WAN port on the router which is uplinked to the Zonet switch. The two windows boxes can access each other and the Internet just fine. My problem is with the new Linux box I am trying to get working. My installation of Redhat 7.2 give me the message:

Bringing up interface eth0: determining ip information for eth0... failed

I get the message at boot up following completion of installation.
I selected the option for 'Configure using DHCP' during installation. I have also just selected the defaults for a workstation installation just to try to make things as simple as possible.

I am guessing that for some reason Redhat is not seeing the DHCP server in my router.

How do I get eth0 to work?

Thanks in advance!

Ralph
