Bridged network doesn't quite drop
Hello, I've got a problem that I'm not really sure how to begin fixing or even how to effectively search for solutions to. My home's router is in an extremity of the home, and it can't really be moved. We were able to run a net cable to another system more around the middle, and I've set up a bridge from the wireless network to the wired network in that system. I'm not using NAT or any fun authentication systems, just a regular bridge and WPA2 encryption.
I can connect to it with no problems, and it works wonderfully for anywhere between 2 and 5 minutes after I connect. After that, I can no longer access the internet or even ping the router, but the wireless connection is still associated. Both reconnecting and restarting hostapd on the bridge system reset things, and then it happens again. This problem also occurs on my N900 at exactly the same time, so it seems like a problem with the bridge setup.
However, my Windows 7 system has absolutely zero problems with this setup. It connected and stayed functional until I shut down hours later.
The bridge system is running up to date Arch, the N900 is running Maemo, and my primary system is running Fedora 17. I checked /var/log/messages on both systems and found nothing beyond normal connect/disconnect messages. This also doesn't happen with any other networks I've connected to.
I'm quite baffled by this situation, but am rather convinced that it's something silly that I've overlooked. Thank you in advance.
