bootup message: named not running

On bootup in OpenSuSE 10.3 I get this message:

Quote:
Reloading name server BIND - Warning: named not running!
I looked both in the runlevels and in xinetd configuration for anything that might cause this message, but found nothing. No luck with Google either.

Why is this message appearing, and is there anything I should do to make the warning go away?

It seems like there might be some problem with bind (named). Try
Code:
#chkconfig named off
After that reboot and see if the message still appears or disappears. Another option would be to uninstall bind if you do not need it.
