Question boot sequence/eth1 delay initialisation

Hi Group!

New here and wanting help to reorder the way my RehHat 8 Dell Latitude C640 boots.

Currently I have an on motherboard NIC that is configured correctly for eth0 and is initialised successfully in its natural place in the boot sequence...

In order to have two NICs and a working modem (modem is PCTel on mother board and cannot be initialised) I have installed a Xircom 10/100+Modem combo pcmcia card. This initialises fine late in the boot sequence and if I bring up eth1 manually all is good...

SO...

How do I make the eth1 initialisation delay and be invoked after pcmcia is initialised????

I am confused because of lines mentioning stuff like "if pcmcia then pcmcia" (ie before doing the eth config)

On one of my older systems (7.x) the Xircom was there at install and RedHat had automatically delayed the eth(0 then) so I want to know how to do it manually.

i would say just change the name of the network link in your /etc/rc.d/rc3.d directory (or rc5...) change the SXXNetwork number to be greater, this will make it load later
