Boot Problem

My system: Red Hat 9.0 with no updates (for a good reason). When my system boots, I get an error msg telling me that:

Quote:
Starting ISDN Modules: FAILED
I am at a loss here: is this about my isdn card (asus P-IN-100 ISDNLink) not having the right drivers, or is this a setup error with my Red Hat 9.0?

Any European isdn buffs out there?

Open up a terminal and type tail -f /var/log/messages
Then in a separate terminal do service isdn start and look for error messages in the messages file.

update

Thanks, I did just that, and my isdn modules start now, but fail to activate isdn device. Well, all I really did was delete any reference to my isdn card, rebooted to see that no attempt was made to start isdn modules, and then reinstalled the card.

As I said, now the error message comes in activating the card. The message is (through redhat-config-network) either that the card is "temporarily unvailable, or then just "failed".

I got a driver file - or so it was presented to me - called w6692.c, that is supposed to work with my kind of card. Now, the readme with that says I gotta recompile kernel.

how about just getting the source for isdn-4k-utils and swapping this file, recompiling the rpm and then installing it?

How do I do that?

Oh, and PS: That's how I got NTFS drivers up and working. Just installed an RPM (this one I got as a compiled rpm), that's it.
