boot from compiled kernel in debian with grub loader
Hello,
I had downloaded the 2.6.13.4 kernel src from kernel.org unzipped it in usr/src/linux-2.6.13.4 dir compiled it using make mrproper, make oldconfig, make bzImage make modules, make modules_install but now only 1 image file is created the bzimage file, that is the kernel image file, but i also need to make the initrd iamge file i.e the initial ramdisk image containing all the modules 2 be loaded on ram. tried mkinitrd command but just showing help options please smone tell how to make the initrd image file, and does modifying the PPP daemon need kernel compilation. Plz reply soon. thank u fellas. |
