bluetooth PAN

im new to linux and have a raspberry pi to learn things on and im trying to set a connection between my macbook and the pi over bluetooth.

so far ive managed to get this to work with a program called blueman but to connect it i have to run startx then open blueman then connect to the macbook.

what im after though is for the pi to automatically make this connection so i can just shh into it straight away.

the same as an ethernet connection but bluetooth.

any help would be great as ive looked online for about 6 hours and cannot find an answer
