blocking telent on open ports


hi,

plz help me find answer of following questions

1)How can we block telent on open ports like 80,23 etc..?

2) if the user able to establish a telnet session to a port? how can we secure that port from exploitation?

When you have kept a port open for its legitimate client (e.g. a browser for port 80), other clients like telnet, nc too will be able to connect to it.

What these clients will be able to do depends on how secure the daemon running on it is.
