Blocking Skype in Squid

Hi All,

I am using Squid proxy v2.5 STATBLE1 on Red Hat 9.

I wanted to block skype and have achieved it by giving the following line in the squid.conf file

----------------------------
acl IPForHostname url_regex ^[0-9]+\.[0-9]+\.[0-9]+\.[0-9]+
acl connect method CONNECT
http_access deny connect IPForHostname all
------------------------------------

Now the problem i am facing is if anywebsite with say IP address and port no for eg. in US VISA website Http://1.2.3.4:443 is also getting blocked.
How can i tell Squid that do this only for Skype and leave others.
I know that this is a tricky part and will not be that easy.

Please give guidance.

Thanks
Yunus

Hi,

first block all urls with ip-numbers via a url-regexp acl.
(Should be no problem for the users)
Then block only skype.com via a url-regexp.
