Basic ICS Problem

Hey, I'm having a problem with Linux ICS.

I'm trying to give access to a Windows XP computer from this one (Fedora Core 2) through eth1

To do so, I tried:

ifconfig eth1 192.168.0.1
echo "1" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

and then added my DNS to /etc/resolv.conf

then on the XP machine, changed the IP to 192.168.0.2 with the Gateway of 192.168.0.1

and then added eth1 to the trusted devices in the firewall settings.

From the XP machine, i can ping the Core machine at 192.168.0.1, but still can't get IE to visit google.com

any ideas?

thanks in advance

Are you running your own DNS server? If not, enter the DNS information from the Linux box into the Windows setup.

I set the TCP/IP info of the XP machine equal to my ISP's DNS.

If that what you mean?

If so, Negative on that solving the problem.

On boot, I get a message after my dial-up connection is finished connecting that says:

e1000: Ignoring New style parameters in presence of obsolete ones

any ideas what this could mean? Is there a way to totally reinstall the network aspect of Fedora then re-install it, like I could remove devices from the Hardware List in Windows?

PS - e1000 is my eth1, so named because it's Gigabit Ethernet

Please if you're reading this, help me out....
