Bandwith question

I am not sure if I am at the right place.
I was wondering, let's say you have many virtual hosts on a webserver and each have a monthly transfer limit. (3Go of transfer).
Is it possible to put a website offline when it has busted it's limit, and if so how?

In php if possible...

If you create a sperate log for each virtual host then you could run a cron job that totals up the usage and disables the host when the limit is reached.
