backup cisco configuration via linux without accessing router

Actually this topic is all over the web,but i can't find any help that matches the condition i have

all information i can find about restoring previously saved cisco configuration in linux requires me to acces the router(via telnet/console) and literally type a command in router cli to download the configuration backup from tftp server

but the condition i have doesn't allow me to do that,i have to restore the backup via linux without accessing the router at all
i think it's like "uploading" the backup from linux to the router

so my question is is there any way/script/utility for me so i can restore the backup via linux without accessing the router at all?

thanks before, any help is so much appreciated

"without accessing the router at all"??? of course not. I have no idea how you think that that would be possible. there are plenty of guides available for password recovery of ios devices if that's your stumbling block.

"without accessing the router at all" <<< i didn't mean that the linux machine is completely cut off from the router, off course they can ping each other, but i need to restore the backup via linux only and no command is needed to type in router cli

is this still impossible?

well what DO you know about the router? There are ways to trigger an upload via writing to SNMP http://www.notarus.net/networking/ci...mp_config.html but if you can't log into the device, I would be very impressed / confused if you have SNMP writeable community string names.

those commands should work fine on linux too, as long as you have snmp tools installed.
