AZio awd102n RALink third party drivers don't use WEP, breaks multimedia
 

I have an Azio AWD102n PCI wireless card. it uses an RALink 3062 chipset which has no native linux support. I installed the third-party drivers and firmware and activated the kernel module. It is detected by Wicd, iwconfig, iwlist and ifconfig as ra0, but not Network manager. Wicd displays my local wireless network, which uses WEP encryption, however I cannot connect to it. It hangs at "Validating authentication," and returns with the error "Bad Password," even though the password is correct. However, Wicd is able to use ra0 to connect to unencrypted networks. Also, my video and video audio now skips and is not as functional as it was before this adventure.
