I have finally got Samba working!! I can acces shares on my Windows laptop to my SUSE 10.1 server. What I would like to have is not to have to enter my password to access the shares. Can this be saved and my shares be accessed automatically? I want password authentication, but I would rather not have to re-enter my passowrd after a reboot. When I initially mapped my drives there was no option to save the passord only an option reconnect at login.
save the passwords from the windows side?
if yes, then this is a windows problem
start ==> Control Panel ===> User accounts ==> <your-user> ===> Manage my network passwords(upper left side) ===> Add the server, user and password info
Thanks for your help. I tried to do what you suggested but I do not have the Manage Nerwork Passwords option. I am using Windows 2000, is there a similar option with this version of Windows?
