Four questions:

1. Are you building the driver against a 32-bit or a 64-bit kernel?

2. What version of the atl2 driver are you trying to build?

3. Did you get the driver from a CD that came with the motherboard, or from somewhere else?

4. Do you need a 2.6.27 kernel for some particular reason, or will the standard 2.6.18 version that ships with Centos 5.2 work for you?

1. The processor is Core 2 Duo E7300
2. atl2-2.0.4 as the driver supplied in the CD (l2-linux-v1.0.40.4) failed to compile
3. I have downloaded the driver from redhat site
4. I have found that kernel 2.6.23 and above have support for this NIC

thanks

If you're willing to stay with the default Centos 5.2 kernel, I've built some kmod rpms for the driver. You can find one appropriate for your kernel at:

ftp://ftp.hogchain.net/pub/linux/att...atl2/centos5.2
