ATM1 commando automatically in init8: how to remove?

I have a hardware modem connected to my PC. the dial-in everything works, but my problem is that my modem make a LOT OF NOISE so I want to diable the speaker sound...

Now I found out that the ATM1 command stands for speaker=1 and ATM0 for speaker=off.

When I use Minicom to connect I kan use the command ATM0 and dial-in without a speaker tone, that's good!

But when I use KInternet Tool (in SuSE 10.0) for dail-in. the init8 string is a ATM1 command. so the speaker makes a lot of noise again.
When I want to change the settings with Yast I can only change init1 , init2 and init3. but not init8...

does anybody know how I can disable my speaker at the dial-in period?
tnx..
