Asus EEE 900 wireless authentication

I am trying to connect to a secure network via a username/password. However the network manager that comes with the Eee does not give that option. It only asks for the WEP/WPA key, but no username/password. Is this something that needs to be corrected similar to http://wiki.eeeuser.com/wpa_default_xandros? FYI, I am a Linux newbie but I do have advanced mode turned on. Thanks for the help.

If there is a username or password on a WiFi connection, then it is being done through a so-called "captive portal". That means you connect to the wireless network (which may or may not be encrypted), and then use the web browser on the device to enter the authentication information.

enterprise

The network administrator said that they were using a WPA enterprise system so there is no personal WPA key. I don't think my network manager has that capability. Is there somewhere that I can get it updated to support WPA Enterprise?

FYI, I am using an Asus Eee 900
