Assigning eth number for 2 identical network card

Hi All,

I have a problem.
In my box I have 2 network card, both VIA Rhine II.
After booted up, card with mac xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:68 will be eth0,
card with mac xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:67 will be eth1.
My problem is, I want to swap the eth number, the mac 67 will be eth0, and mac 68 will be eth1. Is there any command or parameter to do this??

I know this can be solved using udev rules in kernel 2.6, but I'm using 2.4.32, and I cannot upgrade the kernel because we only using kernel 2.4.32 and the company does not want to update kernel for production.

Thanks.
