Apcache guied

Hello

I just downloaded and install apache web server with these following cammand with help og following link
http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/install.html

gzip -d httpd-2_0_50.tar.gz
tar xvf httpd-2_0_50.tar
/configure --prefix=/usr/httpd/
make
make install

its compelete without any error but on web they also recomend these to step aftre ./configure which i could not understand
then i skip these following commands

-enable-rewrite=shared \
--enable-speling=shared

Now i need guied line for configure web server actulay i wants to host my web site on this server

I dont know what else requierd to host my website which can be accessable for internet users

1-I have static public ip from my ISP
2-I have Redhat linux 7.3 running with squid 2.5 stable 6
3-I also want to run Mailman mailing software for this

Now my first step is how can i host my website on this web server

The two enable lines are actually part of the configure comment. The trailing \ on the first line tells the shell to continue the command with the next line. These two are equivalent:

./configure --prefix=/usr/httpd \
--enable-rewrite=shared \
--enable-speling=shared

./configure --prefix=/usr/httpd --enable-rewrite=shared --enable-speling=shared

hello

i have solved above problem now my web server is running i tested it with local lan chacking in borwser http://192.168.0.100:80
and from internet http://202.124.192.133:80 ( temporary dynamic ip)

its working giving following apache Massege with apache logo

If you can see this, it means that the installation of the Apache web server software on this system was successful. You may now add content to this directory and replace this page.
Seeing this instead of the website you expected?

If some one know what is its default folder how i can place my web site , i have to pleace 2 difirents web site on same server

thanks waiting for reply
