apache slash / Question

Hi people, I have a quetsion about my apache server.
When i go to this page it Internet explorer says that i couldnt find my page...
http://192.168.0.5/stats

when i do http://192.168.0.5/stats/
it opens my index.php file.

Could someone tell me what i need to change in the config or so on? to fix this problem....

/stats/ is an alias to another location (probably outside your DocumentRoot).

So if you use http://192.168.0.5/stats apache will point you to a file called stats that resides in you DocumentRoot.
http://192.168.0.5/stats/ points to a direcory/file combo that is defined in your httpd.conf.

Open your httpd.conf and search voor sections that start with 'Alias'. There should be one with /stats/ in it.

Hope this helps.

Go read up on mod_dir. It'll help. There is a difference between "/stats" and "/stats". One is a file, and one is a directory.

Perhaps he has mod_dir in place.

eyewitness, this really is very trivial. You have to use a slash at the end when using IPs. Trying just setting up a vhost container, and set your hosts file to point to that IP with that DNS entry.
