apache proxy and port forwarding

I'm just wondering about the allowconnect property in httpd.conf. If I have a windows machine on a subnet and I have to configure port forwarding for a p2p app in my router, do I need to do the same thing with apache?

Well, let me reword the problem a bit more specifically. eMule can't connect to the internet, but every other internet app I have can, so it's not a connection issue. When I have my Linux box setup as a proxy behind a router(I'd connect it directly but I have other people using the network that need it), as far as that router is concerned all the internet traffic is seen as coming from my Linux box. That's my understanding of what a proxy does. And that when I configure port forwarding/triggering in my routers configuration applet using the IP address of my Linux box should work, even though the application is physically located on my windows machine. What I am trying to determine is if my problem lies in my Linux machine or my router?

The router is a Linksys BEFSR41 version 3.
