Any body using the Freenx remote desktop?

Dear All

I have lately installed a Fedora 6 into a Mac Mini (PPC).

Together with this Mac Mini, another WIN XP (HP) Laptop are connected to a Linksys router to form a
simple network. As I only need to use the Mac Mini as a file server, I want to use one of those
desktop sharing software to control the running of the Mac Mini.

As it is suggested by many user, the Freenx is a good choice for this task.
So I just downloaded and installed the Freenx server into the Mac Mini (Fedora 6).
On the Win XP, I just downloaded and installed the client, and, having followed some guidelines
(which looks pretty straight forward), configured the client.

Anyway, having started and tried so many times, even by tweaking all parameters,
I just cannot get connected with the Freenx server,
and not able to see the Fedora screen from the Win XP laptop!

Can anybody tell me how to solve this problem.

However, I can use the VNC Viewer to connect with the KDE desktop sharing.
But the display quality seems not that good and response time is slow at times.
Also, I found the KDE desktop sharing can be started only when I logged in
(i.e. not a service started automatically during the startup process).

I can also connect with the SSH server via a Putty that I installed in the WIN XP laptop.
So, is it a problem related to the SSH, SSL or something like that?
Or, do I have to create some user account in the Mac Mini system first?

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

I use it every day and it works great.
Probably you haven't installed the ssh client key which is generated by the nxserver.
You must copy the file /etc/nxserver/client.id_dsa.key to your Windows computer and import that key into your Freenx client.
Also must the ssh server be running on the Linux machine and port 22 mustn't be blocked by the firewall.
