amule + shorewall+ portforwarded, still low ID

I have a problem with amule 2.1.1.
I run shorewall and I 'think' i configured it correctly, with all the right port forwards etc, but I still get a low ID.
I'm running PCLOS on an AMD board and i'm connected through a motorola surfboard, so no router in between.
My ports in amule are the defaults
eth0 is my outgoing card (on static IP)
eth1 is my local card and mostly unused (also static)
i went to the edonkey and amule forums (that's where i learned about adding ports,..)
and that test port page shows me "success"

But not so for amule that still gives me a low ID and a Kad firewalled
