Amavisd-new error killing mail delivery

Hi I'm getting the following error on my postfix + mysql + amavisd + courier mailserver:

May 16 11:06:03 Mail1 amavis[10260]: (10260-01) TROUBLE in process_request: Can't create directory /var/local/amavis/tmp/amavis-20050516T110603-10260: Too many links at (eval 37) line 75, <GEN2> line 2.

I've not found anything meaningful online regarding this. I have disabled postfix content filtering to cease mail queueing. Any idea how to fix it, or what it means ?

Any help would be appreachiated.

Fixed it

In case anyone is curious the tmp directory was full of temporary directories ... amavis-new doesn't seem to do it's housekeeping in the version i've got installed.

Took a little hunting but ... pretty straight forward in the end.

How did you fix it? Just deleting all from /var/amavis/tmp?

Do you have any idea why they were not deleted by amavis?

I had the same and all directories under /var/amavis/tmp were dated 20051215 and 20051216 but amavis has been running since november. It seems that in some cases amavis does not cleanup and maybe it is meant to be so, if something abnormal happens.
